Germany
Germany is another country whose museums are filled with incredible Egyptian artefacts. In 2009, I had the opportunity to travel to various German cities to visit these important Egyptian collections. The most important one is at the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrus Sammlung in Berlin, which is housed in the Neues Museum. The collections in the rest of the country are impressive as well (just smaller) and you will find them illustrated by my research photos.
This was my second time in Germany; my first trip was in 2004 when, on my way to a conference in Paris, I detoured to visit a friend in Berlin. A few of my photos of Berlin itself date to this trip. You will notice them because of the quality the photos scanned six years ago and part of the previous incarnation of An Archaeologists' Diary isn't quite as good as my more recent digital images.
